BB Bear came into Phoenix Dog/Cat/Bird Hospital on Oct. 6 with a fractured skull after he was found by a dumpster near Seventh and Southern avenues in Phoenix. Dr. Hugh Giffords and his team determined his injuries likely resulted from abuse.

The puppy was nursed to health before he was made available for adoption. Because BB Bear drew far-reaching attention from media outlets and on social media, there was no shortage of families who wanted to adopt the German Shepherd, said Lisa Klimczak, executive director of the Arizona Animal Rescue Mission

More than150 Arizona families completed applications to adopt him and we are happy to announce that in December 2017 BB Bear was adopted by a loving family that will cherish him as much as all of us do.

...and we have news as big as those ears!

BB Bear has been selected as a 2018 Hero Award Winner from the Arizona Pet Project. He was chosen from hundreds of pets and will be celebrating with his new family and Doctors Hugh and Lara when he receives his award.
